Our stay at Castaways Resort was absolutely fantastic! We were a family of 7 adults and 4 children celebrating my 60th birthday, and the villa provided enough space for all of us to stay close together. The facilities were amazing, with a nice chalet and an open plan sitting area that offered beautiful views. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and everyone loved the amazing shower. We were surprised by how well-equipped the kitchen and laundry were. The spa and restaurant were also great, and the wifi worked really well. I highly recommend this hotel!

The wellness center and the sport activities advertised were closed during Christmas, but this wasn't specified before we booked, which was very disappointing. The cleanliness could have been better, as the room wasn't dust-free and had moths flying about.

We were a group of friends celebrating a milestone birthday, and we had an epic time. The resort offered awesome activities like Combat Arrow Tag and Claybird Shooting, which were full-on physical events that challenged our team. The Awhitu Golf Club provided a fun 9-hole course where we tried our hand at golfing. Plus, the resort's location near Waiuku township meant we had plenty of family-friendly spots like the Waiuku Skatepark and Sandspit Reserve beach to relax and have a great time together.

The only thing we wished for was more options for young party-goers in terms of nightlife. While the resort had amazing facilities and activities for the day, we would have loved to have a dedicated space or event where we could continue the party into the evening.

The driveway is steep, so be careful when navigating through it.
